Alyssa Pulver - Program Director:
Hello, my name is Alyssa Pulver, I am the Program Director for the River Vale Educational Fund. I have been working as the Program Director of the A.C.E. Before and After School Program since 2010. I reside in Oakland with my family. I have a seven year old son who is my world! I am a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology and I hold my Teaching Certificate in Physical Education. Over the years, I have worked as a Personal Trainer and was a General Manager for a large gym. I have many years of management experience as well as customer service. While, my experience never led me to teaching in a classroom, teaching has always been a passion of mine as well as coaching. I enjoy the many aspects of children; playing games, teaching, guiding and just hearing about their days are the things I enjoy most. I have found over the years, you can learn a lot about yourself when working with children. I am extremely dedicated to the Fund and the Before and After School Program. I look forward to another great year!
Marisa Martire - Assistant Program Director:
Hi, my name is Marisa, I was the Site Coordinator for four years at Roberge Elementary School and promoted to Assistant Program Director in 2019. I currently reside in Oakland, NJ with my family. I hold a degree in Interactive and Graphic Design from Seton Hall University. Although I love doing graphic work, I decided to use my creative and detail oriented skills to work with children. One of my biggest passions besides outdoor adventures and woodworking is the satisfaction of being with kids, teaching them useful skills they may use in real life, and watching them grow. I’ve made great connections with not just the students but also the families throughout my time here and I am excited to be able to come back and continue this year. My goal is to keep providing manager skills to our staff as well as a safe and entertaining environment for all.
Roseann McCarthy-Office Manager:
Hi, I'm Roseann McCarthy and I've been the Office Manager for the River Vale Educational Fund for over 10 years. My time at the Fund started in the position of Treasurer on the Board of Directors. After a few years of volunteering my time on the board, I moved to the more permanent position of Office Manager. While my main responsibilities lie with all accounting/financial work at
the Fund, you may recognize me from time to time at various aftercare sites. Filling in at our locations gives me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the children and families in our program. Before joining the River Vale Educational Fund, I was a Portfolio Manager at ING Funds. I left this position in 2009 to spend more time with my family. I am a lifelong resident of Bergen County. Some of my favorite things to do are cooking, sewing and spending time with my puppy, Tucker
Mackenzie Smith - Site Coordinator:
Hi my name is Mackenzie Smith! This will be my first year working with this program. I am beyond excited! I am a sophomore in
college studying elementary education. I live in Hillsdale and graduated from pascack valley in 2021! I am looking forward to meeting the staff and students!
Karen Frigiola - Counselor:
Hello my name is Karen Frigiola. This will be my 2nd year working with the Norwood After School Program. I also serve as a lunch aide for the past 9 years at the Norwood Public School, It has
been a very rewarding experience over these years working with the staff and children. I look forward to another exciting year. It will be fun seeing the kids from last year along with meeting the new children attending the program!
Barbara Davis - Counselor:
Hi, I'm Barbara Davis. I'm looking forward to returning for my third year with Norwood after care. I really enjoy working with all the students that attend the program. I love creafting with the younger boys and girls. I also love watching the kids evolve and grow over the years, and developing bonds with them over time. I never imagined that a part time job could bring me so much satisfaction and such wonderful memories.
Jennifer Luther-Counselor:
Hello, My name is Jennifer Luther. I am an afterschool counselor with the River Vale Education Fund since September 2021 and am a counselor at the Norwood afterschool program since March 2022. I enjoy being around children of all ages, playing games with or reading to them, helping them with their homework and just making them feel comfortable with the other kids. I graduated
from Park Ridge High School and also work part-time in the Park Ridge schools supporting the staff and children. I attended Bergen Community College for Culinary Arts. I look forward to another school year working with your children, supporting them and making sure they have a happy experience!
